Roseola

I suspect Claire has it. On Saturday evening around 6 she woke up with a fever and was rather cranky and clingy. Did not want to eat much, and threw up around 8. On Sunday morning we stayed home from church because she still had the fever (~101) and was very cranky and restless, even though I held her all the time. Then she took a nap and woke up ready to play. The fever continued through last night. She woke up this morning without the fever but we noticed a red rash on her trunk. It seems to be spreading but does not bother her. I looked it up in one of my baby books and this fits the bill for roseola perfectly. I'm just glad to know what it is. It was a little disconcerting with her having an unexplained fever for 3 days. We were wondering (hoping) it was just her cutting teeth.

In other news, we bought a new smoothtop range with a convection oven. We went to Sears intending to get a Kenmore Elite but ended up getting a Bosch. It was about $300 cheaper and I liked the controls better. The Kenmore had everything controlled by an electronic touchpad on the backsplash. It had a crazy amount of features, almost too much. The Bosch has the stovetop controls on the front near the oven door handle, which I like since I won't need to reach over/around hot pots to get to them. (Yes, we will teach Noah and Claire not to touch!) It also has dials for the burners and oven instead of buttons. The Bosch looks clean and simple, which is what I like. Easy to clean, too. And it was on sale with an additional 10% cash back. That'll pay for the taxes, anyway.
