Claire's surgery

We went to the eye surgeon on Tuesday. He is pleased w/ how well Claire uses her left (crossed) eye when her right is patched, so he thinks she is ready for surgery. It will be next Friday, 2/24. They called yesterday to ask some medical history questions and tell us to be there at 6:30am. It's a solid 2.5 hour drive, so we'll be spending the night before in a hotel near the surgery center. It's an outpatient procedure, though she will have to be put under.

While Dr. Peterson was checking her, he put his hand up over her right eye to see how well she used her left. She kept ducking and trying to get away so he seemed to think she greatly favored her right (not a good sign). I know she uses her left eye well when she is patched, so I suggested that it was his hand that was the problem. He agreed when we put the patch on. I can tell she moves it more than she used to --I almost never saw her move her left eye to the outside corner before, but she does that fairly easily now.
