Vacation
We had a nice vacation to Branson and Kansas last week with Carla's parents. We drove to Branson, MO and spent a few days there. We saw the Acrobats of China, Dixie Stampede, had a picnic at Table Rock Lake, and went for a ride on the Branson Scenic Railway. I also got a cold, which has now turned into a sinus infection. But I still had a good time. Then we drove to Great Bend, Kansas where Carla's grandmother lives. We stayed at her house and visited with other relatives out there, went to the local zoo, and went to Dodge City to learn some history of the Old West. But the highlight for me was the severe weather!!! The first night we were there, severe thunderstorms went over her house, producing pea sized hail and winds around 60 mph. I got to take some great pictures, a few of which are below (more of my attempts at weather photography can be found here. Some of the most beautiful mammatus clouds I have ever seen! On the way back we had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Chevy's Fresh Mex. So aside from being sick most of the time, it was a very enjoyable vacation.
