Ergo
I have recently had 2 mothers recommend I check out a baby carrier called the Ergo. Supposedly you can carry a 40 pound child in one of these things for hours w/o pain because much of the weight is distributed to your waist/hips instead of your back and shoulders. I did a lot of research online and seems like a lot of people are crazy about them. Since Claire is too big/heavy (29 pounds) for a sling, I decided to give it a try. Plus you can use it for newborns, and you never know when one of those will come into your life. :)
Of course, I looked at eBay first. I watched for a week and they had several on there, but they were going for $5 - $10 less than brand new, which just isn't worth it to me. These things evidently hold their value!
So my new Ergo came yesterday in the mail. It wasn't too hard to figure out how to use it. I put Claire in first, but she wasn't too impressed. I don't think she was uncomfortable, I think she wanted to get down and play w/ her Daddy who had recently come home from work. Noah wanted to get in and he LOVED it! And I can't believe that it really did not hurt my back or shoulders at all. Last time we checked he was around 38 pounds, so he's no lightweight. Next time we go out on an errand I'll put Claire in again.
Noah wanted to wear the Ergo this morning so I put it on him and tightened all the straps as tight as they would go. Then we put his baby in the back. You can wear a child on your back, hip, or front w/ the Ergo.

Hey, that Ergo is just like mine. You must have gotten the denim organic. I love it and still carry Jesse around in it, too.
