Chloe's birth

Well there's definitely something to the full moon theory. The moon was very full on the 4th and 5th. I started having regular "false labor" on Tuesday, the 5th, though the contractions didn't hurt and I had had that happen the previous week. Chloe was born on the 6th at 5:25am. So we missed our 2 year and 1 week spacing by 5.5 hours! We'll have to take the moon into heavy consideration the next time we try and predict the birthday. :)

I had at one point prayed for a fast labor and delivery, but I don't think I will do that again. I think I prefer slow-and-steady-wins-the-race to get-it-all-done-in-2.5-hours.

My mother was not able to make it to the birth because of a family emergency in Kansas. She was at both Noah and Claire's births. I had been a little disappointed that she would not be able to come if I went into labor this week, but she wouldn't have made it in time anyway. I would have called her at 3am (when I realized I was definitely in labor) but she would not have gotten here before 6am, a good 30 minutes after the birth. So that made me feel a little better about it. Doug's dad was in town for business so he got to come by that afternoon to meet his new granddaughter (what incredible timing, praise God!).

Chloe was 8 pounds 6 ounces and 20 inches long, a real light-weight. She is nursing well and sleeps most of the time she isn't eating.
