Full moon babies
Doug and I were talking today about how there will be a full moon soon. Turns out it will happen tonight. We vaguely remembered talking w/ our midwife that delivered Claire about how more women go into labor during a full moon. So I decided to look up the lunar phases for when Noah and Claire were born. I found this nifty little website at http://stardate.org/nightsky/moon/ where you can look up the lunar phase for any month from 1951 to 2015.
In November 2002, there was a full moon on November 19, which is the day I started feeling contractions w/ Noah. He wasn't actually born until the 21st because he had his hand up near his head and wouldn't come down. There was a lot of pain involved between that full moon and November 21, a good 19 days past his due date.
In November 2004, there was a full moon on November 27 (her due date), which is the day I started having contractions w/ Claire. She was born the next day.
Sooo, maybe today is the day things will start happening! I am not actually due until this Saturday (the 9th), but I don't feel like I will be going late like I did w/ Noah. Doug and I both are hoping the baby will be born tomorrow, the 5th. That will put 2 years and 1 week between Noah and Claire and Claire and the new baby. We like symmetry, ya know.
Oh, my official prediction is a girl, under 9 pounds, December 5 (the weight guess sounds vague, I know, but would be a truly remarkable feat so it really is quite a bold forecast).
