General update on the children

OK, so we've been real slackers when to comes to blogging. Forgive us for living life instead of writing about it. :)

Chloe is thinking about crawling now. She loves to be put down on the floor to play. Sometimes she'll get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. She also rolls around, goes in circles, and pulls herself a few feet while on her belly. I can't leave her alone on the bed anymore (even w/ pillows around her), and this morning I had to put the side rail up on the crib as she was pulling herself up on it to peek over at us.

She also does not like her car seat very much anymore. She does fine in the car but when we get to our destination she wants us to carry her or put her in a stroller (or a high chair if we are at a restaurant). Before she was happy to stay in the seat and we would put the seat in a stroller designed for this.

It's about time to play musical car seats. We will be moving Noah up to a booster seat (as soon as we purchase it), Claire will get Noah's car seat, and Chloe will get Claire's.

We went to the NASCAR SpeedPark near our house last Saturday w/ Doug's parents. Doug and Noah rode a couple of cars together (Doug driving, of course). Claire was too short to ride in those, but they did have some kiddie rides she was just barely tall enough for. There was a ride where you basically go around (and out a little) on a contraption similar to a swing at a playground. We asked Noah if he wanted to ride and he said no. Claire wanted to ride though, so we put her on and after Noah saw that she was going to do it, he wanted to. But he had to wait until the next time since the ride was already starting. Claire had a marvelous time. She is much more adventurous than Noah. He will not ride anything unless someone is w/ him, preferably me or Doug, though Claire will suffice.

After this, Doug and I were talking about how we would like to go to Dollywood (also near our house). The children do a little better w/ these rides each time we go to something like this. Doug's very generous parents have mentioned wanting to take us to Disney World at some point, so we want Noah and Claire to learn to enjoy rides before then. The next day at church, some friends of ours offered us free tickets to Dollywood! So we are excited about doing that this coming week. Thank you, Anders family!
