Daddy's little helper

By Doug

Noah has always loved to "help" me. Usually, he's not much help, and he loses interest quickly and finds something to play with. One of the things he always wants to help with is changing the oil in the cars. Mainly, he likes to help pump the hydraulic jack, then goes to play. But this time he stayed with me. He was full of questions about cars, and I was more than happy to answer. I taught him about the air filter, the oil filter, the radiator, and why oil is important. He pointed to several things in the engine, asking what they were. I was eating it up! I love teaching him about my favorite subjects - weather, geography, baseball, and cars. Changing the oil is really a one-man job, and kinda messy, but I had to find some way to get him involved. So I got a step stool from the house, and had him pour the new oil into the engine. He seemed to enjoy that.
