Flew the coop

Our baby cardinals have left their nest. Only 9 days after hatching, they left. From what we read, the mother and father continue to care for them even after leaving the nest. Fortunately, we got a picture the day before they left.



There were 4 eggs, three hatched, and apparently only two survived. Oh, and the mother wasn't eating the egg shells. She was eating the baby bird poop. Yuck!
