We're cookin' now
I got my new stove today. We had a lot of trouble installing the new vent hood but it is at least up on the cabinets now. Now we just have to find a power cord for it -- the stinking thing came w/o one! Doug was mighty irritated by that. The stove itself is very nice. I'm very excited because I can make the oven go down to 100 degrees F for dehydrating nuts and such. My stove in NC only went down to 170, which was a little higher than I liked. I had a very stern talk w/ Noah about touching the stovetop controls. I think he sensed the seriousness of the situation.
Tomorrow is a big day. I have to go get milk, look at fabric for new curtains, pillows, etc., and oh yeah, take Claire to the eye surgeon. I'm not looking forward to this. Doug has to work until 8am so he won't be going w/ us. He will, of course, be getting off work for the actual surgery. I would be a basketcase, I think, w/o him there for that. His presence is very soothing to me. I think I'm going to be doing a lot of praying in the waiting room. It will help calm me and keep my mind off the fact that they are going to slice open my baby girl's eyeball. I told Noah about what they were going to do and it started to really creep me out. It inspired Noah to perform surgery on Snoopy's eye and arm w/ a pair of miniature sewing scissors. I'm happy to report that Snoopy came through just fine. I am kinda excited about the thought of Claire's eyes being straight. I wonder if she will look strange? I'm so used to them being crossed.
